Many of the other online grocers give customers an option to accept alternative products if they don’t have exactly what you asked for. For example, if you wanted Heinz tomato ketchup they might send their own brand ketchup. We aren’t able to offer the same service because we don’t stock regular lines. We might only have Heinz tomato ketchup and no suitable substitution. This is why we have included the Substitute Item facility. Now you can give us a list of substitute items we could add to your order, it may be more of the same or another product. What won't happen is we give you something you don't want or fill you up with something that will take a year to use! The volumes we are talking about is a £1 or £2 substitution - not half your order. Common sense will prevail. If we are missing a number of items or it looks like a missing item is an important part of your order we will still call. |
