Well I don't mind one or two substitutions but in my order today, out of 21 items, 12 were wrong. Most of the missing items are still in stock and there is nothing written on the order slip to say whether anything is out of stock, or how many of each item are included. None of the substitutions are from my substitution basket. I'm really disappointed. I can only think that either my order got mixed up with someone else's or that the packer (Scott) just picked items at random because he couldn't be bothered to look for what I actually ordered, and he couldn't be bothered to write anything at all on the order slip.

I have sent an email to AF and I hope they can do something about this. Has anyone else had this problem?

Oh, and I've been sent 4 boxes of cat food. My cat was put down yesterday. Of course the packer wasn't to know this but it was quite upsetting.

I do too - which is great until the stuff you placed the largest order for is out of stock and you get sent the rest of the small stuff that you arent really fussed about at full postage price.

Yeah I realise I could do that but then I would have had to pay full postage for less than half my order which would have been just as bad.

It used to say somewhere on the website that if there was a large number of items not available htey would take a common sense approach and contact you....seems that has gone the same way as the bargains!!

Still does its under substitute basket on the left:

What won't happen is we give you something you don't want or fill you up with something that will take a year to use! The volumes we are talking about is a £1 or £2 substitution - not half your order.

Common sense will prevail.

If we are missing a number of items or it looks like a missing item is an important part of your order we will still call.
Must admit I've never had any problems with substitutes, only the occasional 1 or 2 but they've always been something else I've wanted Smiley

Well I am pleased to say that I had a speedy reply to my email and have now received all the missing items. So they weren't out of stock at all. So I will be able to ice my son's birthday cake after all! Thank you Perry for sorting out the problem so quickly.

I don't know why the 'default' is accept, I'm sure that this causes the majority of problems...

Also - I find the website could do with a complete overhaul, it is not user friendly.

The search facility is poor, and there should be a way (like ebay) whereby you can choose how many items you want to list instead of having to keep turning pages every 5 or so items.

It's a shame really,  as otherwise it's relatively good.

I totally agree that it is not a very user friendly site in the ways you outline, particularly that it is ruddy annoying having to click next page every few items. What a pain in the ass that is.

I agree too, and it dosen't help when half the items are repeated in several different categories which increases the amount of pages you have to trawl through and they're often in the wrong categories too - prime example - have a look through the chocolates and sweets section - over 18+ pages and half of the items are biscuits and cakes!!, you got tea in the breakfast cereal bit etc, overall the site is easy to use, its just cluttered and the items need to be 'filed' in their proper sections.
