And so he started and made the 50 miles run from Lands End to John O’Groats commencing at 5am on Good Friday.
After a quick photo at Lands End Alan headed to Truro and then onto St Austell where he rests overnight before continuing on up the country tomorrow (Saturday).
As the day continued the momentum grew as people began to realise the crazy 52-year-old meant business and was really trying to run up the 1,000 mile route in 20 days.
